I work remotely so where possible can advise on equipment, configuration and security requirements.

I can help configure switches, wireless access points and network settings for small and larger environments. 

This may include, Wi-Fi and switch configuration, network segmentation, guest Wi-Fi, VLAN configuration, quality of Service for voice or other important traffic, Spanning Tree configuration where appropriate.

I have experience with TP-Link and Netgear switches and wireless access points, including both consumer and enterprise equipment.

A suitable firewall helps control traffic between your network and the internet. I can review or configure firewall rules, content filtering, traffic filtering and remote-access settings. I can also help identify unnecessarily exposed services and explain the implications of allowing inbound connections.

A VPN can provide authorised remote workers with secure access to selected systems or network resources. I can review your requirements, advise on an appropriate approach and help configure the solution.

Support may include user access, authentication, routing, firewall rules and testing.

If someone needs to access a particular computer or server rather than the whole network, remote-access software may be more suitable than a VPN. I can help assess the requirement and configure a secure solution such as TeamViewer, where appropriate.
